BACKGROUND INFORMATION & LINKS
Potato Needs a Bath (the original theatre show) was created by Shona Reppe and Andy Manley with original music by composer Dave Trouton in 2008. It was designed for very young audiences as a gentle introduction to theatre, and has successfully delighted audiences ALL over the world from Scotland to Broadway New York to The Southbank Centre, London. (For more info on the theatre show and Shona's work visit www.shonareppe.co.uk)
Last year due to COVID, Potato Needs a Bath was adapted for a digital audience (after all the show must go on!). Supported by IMAGINATE and TISS, the world of Maris Piper and Potato was lovingly re-imagined into a fun-filled 30 minute film (filmed, performed and edited by Shona Reppe with 2 iphones in her spare room during lockdown). The 15 min story conclusion in the format of an online livestream party has allowed Potato and Maris to be beamed into living rooms/classrooms all over Scotland (and the world) to the delight of all who come to party with their fruit and vegetable friends!

Theatre in Schools Scotland (TISS) is produced by Imaginate and the National Theatre of Scotland to support and develop the touring of high quality theatre and dance performances to Scotland’s schools and nurseries. TISS creates opportunities for schools to host live performances for their pupils with a programme of world-class productions created by Scottish performing companies. The performances are designed specially for school halls and can tour anywhere in Scotland. Theatre in Schools Scotland was initially developed as a three year pilot project by Imaginate and National Theatre of Scotland in partnership with Catherine Wheels Theatre Company, Starcatchers and Visible Fictions.
