Potato Needs a Bath (the theatre show) was created by me (Shona Reppe) and Andy Manley with original music by composer Dave Trouton in 2008. It was designed for very young audiences as a gentle introduction to theatre, and has successfully delighted audiences ALL over the world from Scotland to Broadway New York to The Southbank Centre, London.

Last year, faced with cancellation after cancellation, I was asked by IMAGINATE and TISS if I could adapt Potato Needs a Bath for a digital audience and I said YES. Armed with 2 iphones and my fruit and vegetable cast - I  re-imagined the world of Maris Piper in a 30 minute film based on the theatre show (filmed, performed and edited by me) followed by a 15 min story conclusion in the format of an online livestream party where I am literally beamed into your living room/school wearing a pineapple on my head.

Here we are in 2021 and as the restrictions continue, so does Potato Needs a Bath. I hope you enjoy Potato Needs a Bath in its new form!
